Using the DMT Electronic Files
The
tool has been designed in Microsoft PowerPoint to make it easy to adapt,
translate and use. However, for mass production, some printers may insist
that it is converted into a design programme. This will involve graphic
design work.
There
are 19 PowerPoint files for the tool:

Welcome, Choosing Method and Dual Protection sections [PPT 2.38 MB]

The
files have been set up to
facilitate the printing process. For this reason, the first client side page of each section
is included in the electronic file of the previous tabbed section - it is not
part of its own electronic file. To
print: the files need to be printed double-sided, with “Short Edge”
Binding. You can just print all the files like this, and the whole tool
should print out perfectly. You don’t need to do anything further for
printing.
Since the first client-side page is in the
previous electronic file, this means that if you decide to remove method
sections for an adaptation, you have to make sure you switch in the correct
last page in each electronic file.
The credits pages and the introductory
pages are pages which are designed for the provider only. For this reason,
and because the files must be printed as “short edge” binding, the text
appears up-side-down in the electronic file (the provider would then still
read it the right-way-up). If you need to translate or adapt this text and
alter electronically, you can just “Rotate” the boxes again for editing
purposes (and re-rotate them later).
Tabbed pages have a box showing the tab
mark. Once tabs have been made, or individual tab pages designed at the
printers, then you can remove these boxes that indicate the tab placement.
Please contact Kathryn Church at churchk@who.int (00 41 22 791 3390) if you
have any queries about these files.
