Strengthened Health System

In a transitional period of health needs of the population, the health system of Bangladesh is now in a process of reform to establish a responsive system for all. In order to meet these challenges, WHO aims to support comprehensive health systems development at central, district and sub-district levels. WHO’s support is extended towards evidence-base for policy and planning, regulatory and organizational development through research into demand and supply-side factors, workforce skill-mix, biomedical technology, pharmaceuticals, and patient safety issues including clinical waste management. It focuses on scaling up activities of health system in order to improve the health of the poor within the framework of the Millennium Development Goals and Poverty Reduction Strategies at the country level.
