Their survival would depend on good quality care provided to them in hospitals.

WHO Pocket Book of Hospital Care for Children provides guidelines for the management of common illnesses in resource-limited settings. An Emergency Triage Assessment and Treatment (ETAT)course is available to assist health workers identify emergency conditions and provide appropriate treatment urgently to save sick newborns and children. Hospital assessment tools for measuring quality of care have been introduced in Region.
