Increasing political, financial and technical commitment in Member States to prevent injury, violence and disabilities and to promote rehabilitation especially through community-based programmes. Supporting Member States to develop and implement national policies and plans to prevent and manage road traffic injuries, and other major injuries, violence and disabilities. Supporting Member States in improving surveillance and related information systems including population-based surveys for planning, monitoring and assessing the impact of national programmes for prevention of injuries, violence and disabilities. Capacity strengthening for injuries, violence and disabilities prevention and promoting rehabilitation especially through community-based programmes. Supporting Member States in implementing and evaluating interventions. Assisting Member States in implementing, documenting and disseminating multisectoral, population-wide programmes to prevent and alleviate the consequences of injuries, violence and disabilities. Supporting Member States in strengthening national health and social systems, and research to prevent and manage injuries, violence and disabilities.
