Art competition winners announced!

The WHO South-East Asia Regional Office received an enthusiastic response to the Art Competition organized on the World Health Day 2019. As many as 247 beautiful submissions from across the 11 Member States of the Region and beyond were received of the theme “Make primary health care work: find and include those not getting healthcare”. An overwhelming 148 entries were received from Bhutan.

In the under 16 years category, Venupama Yethmini Athapattu from Sri Lanka won the first prize. The second prize is shared by Yasha Shafee Shafeeq and Mariyam Shaarath Shareef, both from Maldives. The third prize has been accorded to Tshering Yangzom of Bhutan.

In the over 16 years category, Thinley Penjor, a health worker from Bhutan, won the first prize. The second position was won by Shalmali Nath, India, and the third prize shared by Setyo W. Widodo of Indonesia and Roderico Orfin from WHO-SEARO.

The competition focused on Primary Healthcare, which is the cornerstone of the Universal Health Care to ensure everyone everywhere gets the healthcare they need without financial hardship.
